Semax

Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro / MEHFPGP) derived from a fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH 4–7) with a C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro extension conferring enzymatic stability. It is utilized in in vitro biochemical research to investigate brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) expression, cholinergic neurotransmission, dopaminergic pathway modulation, and neuroprotective mechanisms.
